Information about Season Structure and What to Expect

Regular Season (Oct-Mar) 

Part 1 (Oct-Dec) This portion of the season switches heavily to technique instruction. During these months, there are tournaments for your athlete to compete in. The tournaments however, are usually spread out a bit more with less consistency on the schedule. We typically practice 2x a week for 1.5 hours during this time. *note during this time fall athletes still competing in other sports may join us at any time. Whether during their other sport, or when their sport ends. 

Part 2 (Dec-Mar) This portion of our season is our tournament season. We up the pace and techniques during this portion to prepare our athletes for tournaments. We will have tournaments locally and some that will require traveling. Wrestlers are not required to compete in tournaments, however, it is heavily encouraged to help wrestlers assess strengths and weaknesses to work on in practice. We will practice 2x a week for 1.5 hours and 1x a week for 1 hour during this time. The extra day with the hour is designed for our travel team wrestlers to get extra open mat time and live scenarios. 

Tournaments: Tournaments are Sanctioned through USA Wrestling. To participate you will need to purchase a USA Wrestling Athlete Card for your wrestler. These are MANDATORY regardless if your athletes intends on competing. USA Cards may be purchased at www.usawmembership.com
